Clarisse Abujamra began her artisitc career as a modern dancer. After winning a full scholarship at age 18 she trained at the Martha Graham studio in New York City for X years. In Brazil, she ran her own dance studio, Compania Teatro Brasileiro de Danca for 10 years. The studio´s name was in homage to the TBC- Teatro Brasileiro de Comedia where the studio was located. She has worked with the top dance companies as well as with a variety of smaller dance groups. She is a dance teacher and a choreographer whose pieces have been featured in theatrical and dance productions throughout Brazil.
Today she works in a variety of capacities. She is an accomplished actress, innovative director and an excellent translator. On television, she has appeared in important roles in regular TV series and mini series for every network: TV Globo, Record , SBT, Bandeirantes and TV Cultura. On stage, she has worked with Brazil;s most reknown actors and prestigious directors. On screen she has taken part in some of Brazil’s most popular films and award winning films. Throughout her long distinguished career, she has received several major awards for both her acting and her choreography.
